Honoring those who paid the ultimate price for our great nation

On Memorial Day we honor those who gave their lives in the service of our great nation. While Armed Forces Day honors those currently serving and Veterans Day honors those who have served, we hold Memorial Day in highest, solemn esteem.
The Community Center that is the hub of relief activities today is on the site of the American Legion Hall that was named for Gordon residents Henegar and Harmon Boyd who lost their lives in WWI and WWII respectively.
Their photographs are on the right as you enter. Next time you come through take a moment to reflect on these men and all of the men and women who paid the ultimate price.
